Organic Ramen @ Soen EAST VILLAGE (NY)

As you know, Japanese like Ramen noodle so much and it is thought as unhealthy food because it contains much oil and salt.... with lots of animal protein.
However in East Village in NY, we can enjoy Orgainic Ramen!

Here's the Organic Ramen !
I ordered MISO Ramen.

ORGANIC RAMEN (Miso)vegetable bombu broth, miso, kombu, nappa, cabbage, kimpira, snow pea sprouts, corn, carrot, scallion and noodles.

It's served with brown rice mixed with seasoned carrot, string beans, shiitake and burdock.
I also enjoy Kale with Creamy Tahini Dill

We will carry on our movement of Healing Foods ......

to be continued .......

Special thanks to staffs @45rpm

I thank all the staffs @45rpm!

Gifts for participants (Omiyage)

We gave small gifts for our participants at the workshop.

This is that.

We wrapped with leftover-clothes of 45rpm.
It's like "Froshiki".

The contents are;
handouts of my lecture,
information of Hideyo-san & me,
Organic Green Powder,
Love & Peace card.

I love the Love & peace card.

It's really cute in the other side.

Wishing for Love & Peace....

Holistic Health Counselors

Many of my friends who are Holistic Health Counselors joined the Organic Workshop.

Ms. Ata Ota is the grad leader of Institute for Integrative Nutrition where we had professional training programs for health counselors.
She is always taking care of us and she's really helpful.
We held " Holistic Health Workshop" in Tokyo in December 2009, when she came back to Japan temporarily.
We talked about "holistic health" including primary food, biodisersity.... at the talkshow.

Ms. Jil Gans is my best friend in New York.
We always took classes at IIN sitting together and shared such a wonderful time as students.
We love enjoying healthy and delicious meals at nice restaurants and shopping together.
She is a great glass artist living in NY city and Westhampton, Lond Island.
I sometimes visit her house in LI for vacation and always enjoy peaceful and healing moments there. The New York Cheesecake she makes is the best one I've ever had!

Ms.MinakoFukunaga is a Yoga instuructor.
We enjoyed Yoga exercise and cooking Miso Soup with Yvette at Tribecca.
She works in Osaka now.

Ms. Fiona is also one of my IIN frineds.
We laughed a lot each other during discussions at our classes.
She encourages me at any time.

All are Holistic Health Counselors certified by American Association of Drugless Practitionars.

Vetables Dyed Organic Colthes

I wore my favorite purple dress for the event.
It's made of organic cotton and dyed with grapes.

45rpm has an organic fabric line called "dash".
They have so many varieties of organic cloth like the one dyed with roses, aroids....
I love their natural colors and soft texture.

Organic vegetables display

We displayed organic vegetables for the organic workshop.

Hideyo cut peppers and made vegetable containers!

What a good idea!!
It's sooo cute!
I love her creativity.

They are of course all organic fresh products which we'd got from farmers market.

We enjoyed varieties of foods;
Organic Vegetable Sticks with many sauces,
Genmai Rolls
Whole Grain Pita Bread
etcs...

All are vegetarian meals.

Special thanks to Doughnut Plant NYC

We served Organic Doughnuts made by Doughnut Plant NYC.

The owner and doughnut chef of Doughnut Plant NYC, Mr. Mark joined our workshop.
He looks very cool and has such a passinon for making doughnuts.

We chose " Carrot Cake Doughnuts" for desserts.
They're made of organic carrots, organic flour and organic brown sugar without eggs!
You can tell the difference once you taste Mark's organic doughnut!

Fumi and Mark.
Thanks for making delicious doughnuts!

Here's some pictures of the workshop @45rpm.

Miso Soup Cooking

I introduce "MISO", one of Japanese traditional processed foods in my lecture and I explained how to choop "real" miso from mass produced miso which has lots of chemical additives.

Then I introduce Hideyo-san, the private chef and holistic health counselor, who live in Blooklyn in NY.
She showed us how to make miso soup.
Everyone enjoyed her cooking demonstration.

Engilsh lecture for my first time in NY

This time, I talked about How to choose foods for our environment as well as for our health.
I also explained about Organic Life which we can follow in our daily life.

I was glad to know that many people who attended the event had interest in organic food and life. It did encourage me.

I was a bit nervous because it's my first experiences of giving lecture in English in New York City.
It had been very long time after I gave a speech in English as a lead speaker in New Delhi, India.
That was more than 5 years ago. I explained about my thesis of Organic Farming in India.
I am really happy that I had such a great chance to talk about Organic Food and Life in front of people in NYC.

Rainy Green Market at Union Square

In the morning I went to Green Market at Union Square
to pick up organic vegetables for our event
with Asaka-san, the manager at 45rpm Soho.

There're varieties of organic vegetables!

It was really bad weather in the morning.
Although it rain heavily and it's so cold...,
lots of farmers are selling their fresh organic products.

I enjoyed shopping in the rain.

We used them for the light meal we provided at the organic event at 45rpm.
